Mexican BBQ sandwich
Ingredients for Marinated tofu:
- 1 tofu (200 grams) à link to the product
- 1/4 cup tamari sauce à link to the product
- 2 tbsp agave syrup à link to the product
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder, optional
- 1/4 cup barbecue (BBQ) sauce à link to the video w/recipe
Preparing the tofu
- Halve the tofu lengthwise, then crosswise into 3 pieces.
- In a rectangle glass or plastic box mix tamari sauce, agave syrup, garlic powder and onion powder. Then add BBQ sauce and mix again.
- Add the tofu, turning to coat it with the marinade, cover and set aside for at least 30 minutes or best overnight.
- Once the tofu has been marinated grill it on a medium fire (200 °C in a gas grill) for 2-3 minutes on each side. The temp. and the timing will depend on the grill you use.
Ingredients for curried tortilla:
- 1 big tortilla (80 grams)
- 2 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil à link to the product
- 1 ½ tsp. curry powder
- a pinch of salt
- 1 big onion for the sandwich
- 1 bunch fresh parsley for the sandwich
Preparing the curried tortilla:
- Cut tortilla into 6 equal rectangles.
- In a small bowl mix olive oil, curry powder and salt.
- Brush each tortilla with the curry mixture on both sides.
- Grill each piece of tortilla on a medium fire (200 °C in a gas grill) for 1-2 minutes on each side. The temp. and the timing will depend on the grill you use.
Making the mexican bbq sandwich:
To make the Mexican BBQ sandwich place the grilled tofu on the grilled curried tortilla, put slice of onion as shown on my YT video: LINK
and drizzle it with –>Smoky BBQ sauce & –>Caper Aioli dressing and sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley.
