Mexican BBQ sandwich 

Ingredients for Marinated tofu:

  • 1 tofu (200 grams) à link to the product
  • 1/4 cup tamari sauce à link to the product
  • 2 tbsp agave syrup à link to the product
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder, optional
  • 1/4 cup barbecue (BBQ) sauce à link to the video w/recipe

Preparing the tofu

  1. Halve the tofu lengthwise, then crosswise into 3 pieces.
  2. In a rectangle glass or plastic box mix tamari sauce, agave syrup, garlic powder and onion powder. Then add BBQ sauce and mix again.
  3. Add the tofu, turning to coat it with the marinade, cover and set aside for at least 30 minutes or best overnight.
  4. Once the tofu has been marinated grill it on a medium fire (200 °C in a gas grill) for 2-3 minutes on each side. The temp. and the timing will depend on the grill you use.

Ingredients for curried tortilla:

  • 1 big tortilla (80 grams)
  • 2 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil à link to the product
  • 1 ½ tsp. curry powder
  • a pinch of salt
  • 1 big onion for the sandwich
  • 1 bunch fresh parsley for the sandwich

Preparing the curried tortilla:

  1. Cut tortilla into 6 equal rectangles.
  2. In a small bowl mix olive oil, curry powder and salt.
  3. Brush each tortilla with the curry mixture on both sides.
  4. Grill each piece of tortilla on a medium fire (200 °C in a gas grill) for 1-2 minutes on each side. The temp. and the timing will depend on the grill you use.

Making the mexican bbq sandwich:

To make the Mexican BBQ sandwich place the grilled tofu on the grilled curried tortilla, put slice of onion as shown on my YT video: LINK

and drizzle it with –>Smoky BBQ sauce & –>Caper Aioli dressing and sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley.
